ANN ARBOR, October 31, 2022 ~ Saturday’s game at The Big House saw No. 4 Michigan remaining undefeated, beating the Spartans 29-7.
The first quarter ended with the green and white leading with seven points, though they did not see any additional points for the remainder of the game. In a controversial second period decision, the Spartans went for a run instead of kicking a short field goal on a fourth down to tie the game, solidifying their position behind Michigan at halftime.
Michigan kept their momentum through the second half, scoring an additional 16 points, including a career-best 54-yard kick by Jake Moody, placing the Wolverines ahead 22-7 in the start of the fourth.
“We need to play a full 60 minutes,” said Michigan State Football Coach Mel Tucker following the game. “We didn’t do that. We’re very disappointed.”

(CONTINUED) In the stadium tunnel after the game, videos were captured showing multiple Spartan players involved in a physical altercation with Michigan’s Ja’Den McBurrows.
Sunday, Mel Tucker announced the immediate suspensions of starting defensive back Angelo Grose, starting defensive end Zion Young, backup defensive end Itayvion Brown, and backup defensive back Khary Crump after videos showed “disturbing electronic evidence” against the players.
