ROCHESTER, Michigan, October 10, 2022 ~ Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and GOP gubernatorial hopeful Tudor Dixon are scheduled to participate tonight in their second and final debate.

The showdown comes as Whitmer’s previously comfortable lead in the polls is quickly evaporating, with several surveys now indicating a statistical dead heat.

It certainly seems like a different race now as opposed to when the first debate occurred,” said University of Michigan Director of Debate Aaron Kall. “I think that the conventional wisdom going through that was … governor Whitmer had a pretty large lead and that, when you’re the favorite, you don’t have to do much … you just don’t want to make a big mistake.

This race and many others across the country have tightened significantly,” continued Kall. “The governor … I think that she’ll be more aggressive.
