DETROIT, September 21, 2022 ~ 760 WJR’s Paul W. Smith held a wide-ranging conversation Wednesday with Ilitch Holdings President and CEO Christopher Ilitch. In it, the pair discussed the Ilitch family’s decades long commitment to Detroit … from their single store start in Garden City, to their Woodward Avenue world headquarters and surrounding investments.

“You mention all the things we have going on … it’s all possible because of the exceptionally talented and bright people that we have throughout our entire organization,” Ilitch told Paul W.

(CONTINUED)One of my core functions is to make sure I have the very best leaders in every part of our business. When I look at a Dave Scrivano at Little Caesars, and a Keith Bradford at Olympia Development, and a Steve Yzerman at the Red Wings, and a Chris McGowan at Illich Sports + Entertainment … these folks are best in class leaders.

Illich went on to talk about his company’s recent acquisition of Scott Harris and the appointment of the 34-year-old as Detroit Tigers president of baseball operations.

I believe Scott Harris is the best and brightest rising star in the baseball industry.” “He’s got a very clear vision and plan, and more importantly, he’s progressive and forward-thinking in winning baseball in today’s game,” continued Ilitch.

We’re focused on doing everything we can to bring Tigers fans and the city of Detroit what they deserve … and that’s a winning franchise and world championships.”
