Detroit Metro Airport Implements Facial Recognition Technology with Delta Air Lines

DETROIT, July 5, 2022 ~ Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) has implemented facial recognition technology to identify each traveler and aid individuals in navigating the airport.

(CONTINUED) The program, dubbed “Parallel Reality,” was created through a partnership with Delta Air Lines and Misapplied Sciences, and is currently in use on a single monitor at DTW’s McNamara Terminal.

The terminal uses special pixels and tracking technology to project personalized information to up to 100 people on a single monitor, showing travelers only their own information and not the information of those around them. Additionally, the information will be shown in a language of each individual’s choosing.
