LANSING, May 11, 2022 ~ James Craig’s gubernatorial campaign apparently submitted thousands of fraudulent petition signatures, according to attorney Edward Greim, who is working for the Republican candidate.
Candidates need at least 15,000 valid signatures to make the election ballot, and 21,000 signatures were submitted by Craig’s campaign.
It is unknown exactly how many fraudulent signatures were submitted, but Greim said there were not enough false signatures to keep Craig off the ballot.
“The media has a way to twist and says ‘well, Chief Craig acknowledged that there is fraud,’” said James Craig on 760 WJR’s “The Paul W. Smith Show.” “No I didn’t. I acknowledged there was a complaint filed…how am I going to acknowledge fraud? I’m not doing the investigation … I didn’t initiate the complaint. We are responding to the complaint.”
