US Troops Placed on High Alert as Russian Presence Grows on Ukraine Border

WASHINGTON DC, January 25, 2022 ~ Global tensions are rising as the Russian military continues to amass troops at Ukraine‘s eastern border.

In response to the elevation, US Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III has placed 8,500 American troops on “high alert.” Some are reserved to take part in a NATO response that is awaiting activation, while others will be on standby for a potential US response.
