DETROIT, December 13, 2021 ~ Monday, in an exclusive interview, Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows spoke to 760 WJR’s Tom Jordan and Kevin Dietz about the ongoing investigation into the January 6 Capitol riot, as well as his new book: The Chief’s Chief.

This comes just days after Meadows, who was previously cooperating with investigators regarding the January 6 attack on the Capitol, stopped working with the committee. Mark Meadows subsequently filed a lawsuit against Nancy Pelosi and the House Committee.

President Trump has made it very clear that he is claiming executive privilege. I’m not going to be the first chief of staff to waive that, it’s not my right to waive,” said Former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to 760 WJR’s Tom Jordan and Kevin Dietz. “So hopefully Congress will look at this a little bit differently, but if not, I plan to stand on principle and support the executive privilege claim until the courts weigh in.”

December 13, 2021 ~ President Trump‘s Former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows chats with Kevin and Tom about his new book and his lawsuit against the January 6 commission.

Sunday, the committee supported the referral, on grounds alleging that Meadows wrote an email to an unknown recipient the day prior to the riots, saying that the National Guard would protect Trump supporters on January 6.

I’ve said publicly, that I was not aware of anybody in the West Wing that had any advance knowledge that a security breach was going to happen on January 6. Quite the contrary,” said Meadows. “And so, as we look at that, I think some of the facts, as they come out, hopefully in the end will illuminate a very different story than what many on the January 6 committee are trying to put forth right now.”

The committee will vote Monday night to decide whether or not to refer Meadows to the Department of Justice (DOJ). The committee has already referred Former Trump DOJ official Jeffery Clark to the Justice Department for contempt of Congress.

Updates from the investigation come just as Meadow’s new book, The Chief’s Chief, hit shelves December 7. The book details the successes the Trump presidency had on the economy, and the transition into a struggling nation gripped by the COVID-19 pandemic.
