LOS ANGELES, October 25, 2021 ~ Sunday, Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions faced Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams for the first time since the trade that switched both quarterbacks, and gave the Lions three draft picks.

Despite the Lions entering the fourth quarter 19 – 17, they were not able to hold their lead, and ultimately lost the game 28-19

Matthew Stafford is now leading a 6-1 team, including a win against Tom Brady’s 2021 Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Jared Goff is yet to get a win. The Lions are currently the only team without a win in the NFL.

Stafford was also able to record his 300th career passing touchdown against the Lions on Sunday. Both Rams and Lions fans exploded into cheers upon LA’s Cooper Kupp touchdown reception in the second quarter, when Stafford became the thirteenth quarterback in NFL history to hit 300.

The Lions lost two games this season to last-second field goals over 50 yards, and have now lost to a potentially Super Bowl-bound team on the road, despite playing it close all three times.

“We’re a lot better than our record shows. Ultimately in this league that doesn’t matter,” said Detroit Lions Quarterback Jared Goff. “It really doesn’t. I can say that as long as I want, but until we win some games, we can’t really prove it.”
