DETROIT, October 5, 2021 ~ Tuesday, President Joe Biden will be visiting Howell, Michigan with the intent to gain support for his Build Back Better plan, including the pending $1.5 trillion infrastructure bill and $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.

They will need more public support though, before the President can persuade Legislators to support the bill.

You can get lost if you are just looking at a number by itself, and obviously that’s easy to attack,” said Senator Gary Peters to 760 WJR’s Kevin Dietz. “But it’s important, what is underlying that number. What kind of impact is this having in people’s lives? What kind of impact is being made for the community at large?

It’s one thing to build roads and bridges, but if you don’t have people that actually have the skills to do that, we’re simply not going to be able to make those kinds of improvements in our country.

The infrastructure bill will send hundreds of billions of dollars to state governments for public works such as roads, broadband internet and water pipes.

The final cost is still under dispute. Some, such as West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin do not want the bill to exceed $1.5 trillion, while others are saying more will be required.

That’s too small to get our priorities in.” said House Progreessive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal regarding a $1.5 trillion dollar final cost. “It’s going to be somewhere between 1.5 and 3.5, and I think The White House is working on that right now because, remember, what we want to deliver is childcare, paid leave and climate change, housing.”
