Michigan Leaders Gear up for Detroit Regional Chamber’s 2021 Mackinac Policy Conference

MACKINAC ISLAND, MICHIGAN, September 18, 2021 ~ Monday, the Detroit Regional Chamber’s annual 2021 Mackinac Policy Conference will begin at Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

According the Detroit Regional Chamber website, the vision and pillars for 2021 are; “Accelerate our COVID-19 economic recovery and sustainability,” “,Advance racial justice and equity for all,” and “Invest in the health of people and communities.”

The schedule of events at the conference reflect those values, and each main presentation will address one or more of those goals.

Presentations include; Huron-Clinton Metroparks, talking on the effects the COVID-19 pandemic left on outdoor recreational activities, The Kresge Foundation speaking about the impact of racial and economic equity, and a special presentation by Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, which will be moderated by 760 WJR’s Senior News Analyst Lloyd Jackson.

Other speakers and organizations include; Henry Ford Health System, Delta Dental, Rocket Companies Vice Chairman and CEO Jay Farner, and Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson.

There will also be live entertainment at the event, such as musical performances, art demonstrations, an ice cream social, and more.
