WASHINGTON DC, July 28, 2021 ~ Tuesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced a new recommendation that fully vaccinated individuals in areas with “substantial or high transmission” should wear masks indoors due to the highly contagious COVID-19 Delta variant.

We’re not changing the science,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci. “The virus changed, and the science evolved with the changing virus.”

In addition, the CDC stated that masks should be required of all staff, students and visitors inside K-12 schools. The agency also encouraged all vaccinated individuals to wear masks if someone in their household has a compromised immune system or is too young to receive the vaccine, regardless of transmission levels in their area.

July 28, 2021 ~ Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey talks about the news CDC mask guidelines with Kevin Dietz.

This comes as Capitol Attending Physician Brian Monahan stated that the House of Representatives is reinstating its mask mandates — along with fines for those who don’t comply. The White House is also reportedly falling back to mask mandates.

In an interview Tuesday, President Joe Biden was asked if he would require all federal employees to be vaccinated.

His response: “It\’s under consideration right now. But if you are not vaccinated, you are not nearly as smart as I thought you were.”

According to the CDC, only 49.2% of Americans are fully vaccinated as of Wednesday.
