WASHINGTON DC, July 9, 2021 ~ Thursday, Pfizer stated that they are currently expanding efforts to develop booster vaccines to fight COVID-19 variants.
In response, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a joint statement saying that Americans do not need booster shots yet.
“People who are fully vaccinated are protected from severe disease and death, including from the variants currently circulating in the country such as Delta,” wrote the CDC and FDA. “Virtually all COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths are among those who are unvaccinated.”
Founder of Reality Meets Science Dr. Tom Rifai told 760 WJR’s Kevin Dietz that “we have really impressive evidence — and I want to see Pfizer’s evidence — that there is long lasting immunity from both the shot and the infection.”
