SLOVAKIA, July 1, 2021 ~ The prototype flying car KleinVision AirCar completed its first intercity flight, flying 35 minutes between international airports in Nitra and Bratislavia, Slovakia.

This flight starts a new era of dual transportation vehicles. It opens a new category of transportation and returns the freedom originally attributed to cars back to the individual,” said Founder and CEO of KleinVision Professor Stefan Klein after exiting the cockpit.

Professor Klein subsequently drove the AirCar to downtown Bratislava.

The hybrid car-aircraft runs on a 160-hp pump-gas-powered BMW engine and has a max cruising speed of 120 mph. AirCar can transform from car into aircraft in two minutes and 15 seconds.

AirCar is no longer just a proof of concept; flying at 8,200 feet at a speed of 100 knots, it has turned science fiction into a reality,” said Anton Zajac, the co-founder of KleinVision.

There have been no announced details regarding release date or purchase price of the AirCar.
