May 21, 2021 ~ Governor Whitmer tells Paul W. she is looking forward to getting back to normal as the state continues to lift Michigan‘s COVID-19 restrictions.

Businesses and workplaces are still allowed to require masks for people to enter.

After a year of living with COVID with masks and distancing and handwashing, I know how jarring changes to our lives will feel,” Whitmer said. “Everyone processes change at different speeds and different ways.”

Whitmer then went on to say the broad mask and gathering orders will be lifted on July 1.

Unless, of course, unanticipated circumstances arise,” Whitmer said. “We do not expect that to happen. We look at this as the last moment of these types of orders.”

The official updated orders will be released on Monday.
