LANSING, MI, March 15, 2021 ~ Beginning March 15, residents can schedule appointments for the new vaccination site opening at Ford Field on March 24. The clinic, announced by the State of Michigan and White House, will provide 6,000 COVID-19 vaccinations per day.
Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist said these are additional doses intended for Ford Field, and not doses rerouted from other vaccination sites.
“I am thrilled that the recently enacted American Rescue Plan Act will deliver resources — that I secured — directly to the federal vaccination program at Ford Field,” said Senator Gary Peters. “There is no question this historic legislation will continue to provide the help needed to get Michigan past this pandemic, and I will continue my efforts to ensure vaccines are widely available.”
