DETROIT, January 22, 2021 ~ Red Wings winger Bobby Ryan is currently at the top of the team’s leaderboard, with four goals and a shooting percentage of 57.1.
Ryan’s tiebreaker goal in the second half of Tuesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets made him the first player to score a goal in the first three-of-three games in Red Wings franchise history. He also became the first to score four goals in his first three games.
Fans are noticing a very different player than the Bobby Ryan who checked himself into rehab for alcohol abuse last season. As his recovery continues, reports indicate that the veteran is well liked among the team, with stats substantiating his return as a top performer.
While a 57 percent shot percentage is not maintainable, it does bode well for both the opinion of Ryan and the future of the Red Wings.
