Week Two Of Restrictions; Ford Facilitates Freezers

Today marks the start of the second week of the Michigan Health Departments three-week added restrictions in dealing with the upsurge in the number of corona virus cases. No slowdown was noted in the latest figures from the state. 6,290 cases were reported yesterday along with another 145 deaths.

The pandemic has led to the postponement of the 2021 Southeast Michigan Auto Show at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. It had been scheduled for January 15-17. Officials are working with the showplace to try and find a later date. Otherwise the show will be rescheduled for mid-January of 2022. The auto show was started last year to fill the void by the North American International Auto Show moving to June.

The Ford Motor Company is gearing up plans to store doses of a COVID-19 vaccine once one becomes available.  It has purchased a dozen freezers. A vaccine being prepared by Pfizer would require ultra-cold temperatures of minus-112 degrees Fahrenheit for safe storage.
