EV Fires Cause Snags For GM, Ford

Electric cars still have problems.

Ford is again delaying the launch of the Ford Escape hybrid after a major recall in Europe, for problems involving fires while recharging. The Escape hybrid was already delayed by the pandemic. Now it won’t come out until sometime next year.
Federal safety officials are investigating fires in several Chevy Bolts. The fires occurred under the rear seat area, near the batteries.GM says it’s conducting it’s own investigation. This is not a recall, but the agency or GM could order a recall depending on what they find.
