State Reports CV Cases In Schools

Michigan has started tracking corona virus outbreaks in schools state-wide. Information is being provided by 45 local health departments. In its first report, 14 kindergarten through 12 grade schools in Novi, Dearborn and Shelby Townships and five colleges were listed among those reporting COVID-19 outbreaks. Novi had 8 cases among students. Utica High School had two students with the virus and the Salina Intermediate School in Dearborn reported 2 staff members sick. At the college level, Alma had 12 cases and Saginaw Valley State had seven. Previous outbreaks were reported at Grand Valley State, Michigan State and Central Michigan.
The latest figures from the Michigan Department of Health reported there were 1,536 new cases of the corona virus and 12 more deaths. The numbers were for a two-day period since the state is no longer reporting updates on Sundays. The state has now reported a total of 117,406 cases and 6,665 deaths.
