Detroit Teachers To Return To Class If They Want

The Detroit Public Schools and the Detroit Federation of Teachers have agreed on a plan to reopen schools for the fall.
Under the agreement, teachers will be allowed to choose either teaching in-person or online. This will be in effect for at least the first nine weeks of school. Teachers that go back to class would get extra pay. Classes would be limited to 20 students,
The district will also provide COVID-19 testing to staff and students, representatives from the DFT and district will conduct school walkthroughs to make sure buildings and classrooms are compliant with the health and safety requirements.
