Mich CV Deaths Rise; GM Pay Restored

The latest report from the state health department on the COVID-19 virus says there were 715 new cases and 19 deaths. Michigan has had 80,887 confirmed cases and 6,191 deaths

There’s good financial news for the 69-thousand salaried employees worldwide at General Motors. Effective tomorrow, they will have their full pay restored. They had taken a 20-percent salary deferral in early April in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The restoration comes a month earlier than had been expected, and company CEO Marry Barra said it reflected the hard work that had been done in protecting the company’s cash position. Barra and other senior officials will continue to take pay deferrals. For Barra, it’s a ten percent reduction. For the others, it’s a five percent cut.
