DPS Summer Students Must Get CV Tests: Judge

Detroit Federal Court Judge Arthur Tarnow has ruled in-person summer schools can continue in the city, but he wants all students attending summer school to have COVID-19 tests. He initially gave the district two days to get it done for up to 650 students, but in an afternoon session agreed to give the district five days in which to complete the testing. This is the second week for the classes and protestors have been out trying to stop the classes. A lawsuit was filed by parents, teachers and students, led by the protest group BAMN.  Superintendent Nicolai Vitti said the district is following all safety guidelines and stressed that summer school was completely voluntary.
