Gyms In Michigan Stay Closed

Gyms and fitness centers remain closed in Michigan.
The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld the authority of the governor to issue emergency orders, like the one that is keeping the gyms closed.
The court statement says
“We sympathize deeply with the business owners and their patrons affected by the governor’s order. Crises like COVID-19 can call for quick, decisive measures to save lives. The decision to impose those cost rests with the political branches of government.”
A federal judge ruled last week that indoor gyms could reopen in Michigan after a lawsuit was filed by a group of gyms.
Whitmer appealed that ruling.
The governor’s office says “3 Republican judges got it right.”
The judges are supposed to be non-partisan.
