Second Night Of Detroit Protests

Hundreds of demonstrators and bystanders are gathered in downtown Detroit again in connection with protests over the death of George Floyd while in police custody in Minneapolis. More than 60 arrests for disorderly conduct were made Friday night in Detroit. Police say most of the arrested people were not residents of the city.

A 21 year old man was shot and killed near the main gathering of protestors. Detroit Police are looking for the shooter and possibly others.

Here is the official release by DPD:

On May 29, 2020 at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the area of Congress and Randolph, an unknown male suspect approach a silver Dodge Caliber that was in a parking lot of the location. The vehicle was occupied with the victim (driver, 21-year old male from East Pointe) and two other males occupants. The unknown suspect fired shots into the vehicle. All occupants of the vehicle, including the victim fled from the vehicle and at some point the victim was shot. The suspect fled in an unknown direction on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital where unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The circumstance surrounding this incident are still being investigated.

Suspect is described as a black male, 17-20, light complexion, short afro, wearing a surgical mask, dark hooded sweater with print on the back, bright yellow pants with a red stripe on both legs and Adidas sandals .

The attached photos are of the suspect and persons of interest who are believed to have been present at the time of the incident.
