Modified Stay At Home Michigan Day 51

Another demonstration protesting Governor Whitmer’s stay-at-home order will take place today in Lansing. The protest is organized by the group Michigan United for Liberty. State Police say they’ll be present to maintain safety, and say they will not allow unlawful, threatening, or intimidating behavior. State lawmakers discussed guns at the capitol, but their meeting was zoom bombed by hackers.
State employees will take layoff days to cut the mounting budget deficit.
The Michigan Senate has approved federal funding for child care costs and additional pay for direct care and public safety workers.
The state reports 370 new cases and 40 new deaths. Cases are increasing in west Michigan. 6 percent of those tested are positive.
