Stay At Home Michigan, Day 11

Michigan has 93-hundred and 34 cases of corona virus, and at least 337 deaths. Some health professionals tell us that some deaths from COVID-19 go unreported. The number of confirmed cases increased by 17-hundred in 1 day. Mackinac County has it’s first case. Sanilac, Ingham, and Emmet counties have their first deaths.
A worker at the Ford assembly plant in Wayne has died from the virus.
Gov. Whitmer is asking the legislature to extend the state emergency by 70 days. Republican leaders are resisting. The governor warns we will see another dramatic upswng of virus cases. She officially declared a state of disaster.
Attorney General Nessel has again warned Menards that they are violating the governor’s executive order. Nessel has said that Menards was price gouging on some items.
Hundreds of inmates have been released from Detroit area jails. Officials insist they were in jail for non-violent crimes.
University of Michigan Flint chancellor Deba Dutta is turning a student residence hall into a resting space for doctors and nurses nearby.
Flint is imposing a curfew from 9 pm to 6 am. It starts tonite. It’s intended from keeping groups of people from gathering on the street at night.
Hospitals in Deckerville, Marlette, and other Thumb-area hospitals will serve as relief sites for southeast Michigan hospitals, for patients who do not have the COVID-19. Marlette Hospital says if they don’t help, people will die.
