‘Vette Joyriders In Court

Two General Motors engineers who took some Corvettes for a hi speed joyride have a date in a Kentucky courtroom today.

27 year old Alexander Thim of West Bloomfield and 30 year old Mark Derkatz of Windsor were visiting the Bowling Green, Kentucky plant that builds the cars.

Police say the men took two of the models for joy rides.

State police say they were spotted going 120 miles per hour and 100 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone when the were pulled over.

Troopers say both had been drinking.

Thim is a design engineer for GM while Derkatz is co-chair of an electrical issue resolution team.

They’ve been charged with street racing.
