DMC Program Loses Accreditation

The neurosurgeon residency training program at Detroit Medical Center has lost it’s accreditation. The program is run by the Wayne State medical school. Accreditation is set to expire next June 30th.
Detroit mayor Duggan says it’s hard to believe.

“I’ve never heard of this happening,” Duggan tells WJR. “They’ve got some serious management problems.”

Duggan is the former CEO of Detroit Medical Center.
There are only 218 residency positions in the U-S. Doctors must go through accredited programs to get a medical license.
