GM Boosts Contract Offer

General Motors has sweetened it’s contract offer to end a strike by the UAW.
GM sent out a letter to employees, saying it would give pay raises, a ratification bonus, increased profit-sharing, keep current health care coverage, and create a method for temporary workers to be hired for permanent jobs. GM says in the letter that the offer commits thousands of new jobs in the U-S and billion of dollars in new investments in plants.
GM is calling for round-the-clock bargaining.
This is the 26th day of the strike.
