A Michigan lawmaker is scheduled to be arraigned today on bribery charges.
Representative Larry Inman of Traverse City was indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of trying to sell his vote on a measure to repeal Michigan’s prevailing wage law.
Inman has denied the charge and said they stem from the anger of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights over his eventual support of the controversial legislation last June.
He said the union spent a half-million dollars to unseat him, and after that failed, this was there last chance to get him out of office.
The union said it couldn’t comment since the investigation was ongoing.
