Abortion Bills Pass in Michigan

The abortion issue in Michigan is heating up.
Gov. Whitmer says she will veto any measure that limits abortion.
Michigan’s Republican-led Legislature voted to ban a second-trimester abortion procedure
But the bills passed with less than the two-thirds majority which would be needed to override a veto.
Right To Life says it’s planning a petition drive if Whitmer vetoes the bill.
Here’s how that would work.
A petition drive to ban abortions in the second tri-mester would have to collect 400-thousand signatures to send it to the state legislature. The legislature could then vote and pass the bill and it would not need the governor’s signature to become law.
