A 9-year-old girl was killed in a crash on US-23 in Washtenaw County late Wednesday night.
The freeway was blocked for hours, into this morning.
Police say the crash was in York Township along southbound US-23 north of Milan.
Police say the 9-year-old girl and eight other people were in a 2004 Honda Pilot when another vehicle hit the the Pilot from behind. The Pilot careened across SB US 23 into the cable barrier.
The 9-year-old was killed when the vehicle rolled on top of her after she was partially ejected.
The girl is from Columbus, Ohio. Police said the family is originally from Kenya. Her father was driving the vehicle.
The eight others in the vehicle were taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
