A man has been shot and killed by police after a standoff at a home in Waterford Township. The man threatened police with a gun.
Police say it began as a domestic dispute at the home on Sunhill Dr. A woman called after she had been assaulted by her husband.
Police arrived, and the man was holed up in the house. Police reached him by phone. He threatened to kill officers and burn down the house.
The Oakland County sheriff’s SWAT team was called out.
The man came out of the house, went back in, continued making threats by phone, and then came out with a shotgun. Police say the man charged an officer, and he was shot and killed.
Police found that gasoline had been doused in several rooms of the house, and gas burners on a stove were burning.
