A naked man was tased and arrested after running in and out of traffic on a Michigan highway Saturday. Deputies from the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene on M-20 after receiving a call for a disorderly, naked man running in and out of traffic. The deputies were told the 32-year-old suspect may have been hit by one or more vehicles.Upon arrival a the scene on W. M-20 and Winn Road in Isabella County’s Deerfield Township, the officers told the suspect to get on the ground so they could take him into custody. The deputy deployed the taser after failing to get the suspect to comply.
The deputies attempted to handcuff the suspect who told them he was on methamphetamine, the department said.
After struggling to handcuff the suspect, the deputies were able to put him in the back of a patrol car. The suspect then began to bang his head against the windows of the patrol car, the department said. He was further restrained to protect himself.
Prior to the deputies arrival, the suspect attempted to enter two vehicles that were traveling on M-20. The driver of one of the vehicles told investigators the suspect fell at one point and he may have ran over his foot. The driver drove away and called police. During that time, the suspect approached another vehicle driven by a woman. He was yelling at her while grabbing his penis, the department said.
The suspect was transported to McLaren ER for evaluation and assessment of injuries, he was then sent to a mental health facility for evaluation.His name is being withheld pending arraignment.
