Dearborn Police say a 57-year-old woman was hit and killed by a car while running to catch a bus. It happened Tuesday morning on Michigan Avenue near Outer Drive. Police say she tried to cross the street against a red light to get on the bus when she was hit by the car. The driver stopped, but police say alcohol may have been a factor. Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in the statement: “This is a tragic situation and our condolences go out the families involved. With that being said, I cannot stress the importance of obeying traffic safety laws, statistics have shown compliance to traffic safety laws will mitigate these types of situations.”
