Portland, Michigan hit by a tornado Monday afternoon

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in the Portland Area this afternoon. The Ionia County dispatch says three buildings reportedly collapsed.  The Goodwill Building had 3 people trapped inside, they have been rescued with no reported injuries.

Robin Hopus, is the manager of the Shell station on East Grand River Avenue in Portland. She says debris is strew everywhere. And several buildings have been damaged. She was speaking to our sister station WJRW:
