Michigan First Lady to host conference on prevention of campus assaults

Governor Snyder’s wife Sue will lead a day long get-together on Monday at the Lansing Center in dowtown Lansing. She says the event is intended to spread awareness about the issue of college assaults and to promote safety on campuses. Snyder’s youngest daughter will soon be a college sophomore.

In addition to several state lawmakers, the summit will feature college and university representatives, law enforcement officials, attorneys and students. Mrs. Snyder says sexual assault has been a sensitive topic gaining national attention and she feels Michigan should be a leader in addressing the issue.
