Drunk Driving Cases Linked To Faulty Devices

How many drunk driving cases are affected by the problems with breathalyzer machines?

State Police tell a State Senate committee that problems with breathalyzer devices were identified in 8 machines affecting more than 50 cases of drunk driving.
In SE Michigan, the cases are in Detroit, Pittsfield and Van Buren townships, and the cities of Beverly Hills and Tecumseh. Problems were also found in several counties outstate.
State Police say they have notified local prosecutors, who will review each case and decide what to do. State Police have suspended the contract with the company that maintains the breathalyzer devices and are investigating to see if criminal fraud was involved.
