VW Posts Record Sales, Could Be Industry Leader Again

Volkswagen may be able to say ‘we’re number 1’ again.
Volkswagen has announced record annual sales that could determine whether it keeps its crown as the world’s largest automaker by sales volume.
VW says it delivered 10-pt-97 million vehicles in 20-19, slightly more than it sold the year before. Toyota estimated it delivered 10-pt-7 million. This would make Volkswagen the sales leader for a second straight year.
Volkswagen emphasizes that it does not set being the sales leader as a business goal but focuses instead on financial results.
Volkswagen was able to increase sales despite declines in global auto markets.
VW’s top markets for profits  are Europe and the U-S.  The biggest market for volume is Asia-Pacific.
