PFAS Project In Michigan

P-FAS will be studied in Michigan.

The Centers for Disease Control will fund a 1-million dollar study of drinking water in parts of Michigan for the effects of the chemicals known as P-FAS. The project will take place in west Michigan communities where P-FAS contamination has been found.
They’re hoping to recruit 1-thousand adults and 300 children for the study.
While P-FAS is a carcinogen, no studies have been done.
State and federal officials are in the process of setting up more detailed guidelines on how much of the chemicals pose a danger in drinking water. They’ve been found near old military facilities and manufacturing sites, but many more discoveries are being made.
