Speculation On West Michigan Pol’s

A couple of familiar  names  from west Michigan politics have been making news in Washington as of late.

Former Congressman Pete Hoekstra has been mentioned as possibly becoming President trump’s top intelligence officer.

Hoekstra is currently serving as the U-S ambassador to the Netherlands.

When asked about the possibility that Hoekstra would be nominated, the president said that he likes him a lot and he is doing a great job in the Netherlands.

The other Michigan name making news is that of longtime Michigan republican congressman Fred Upton.

The New York times has reported twice in the last month on speculation that Upton will retire at the end of his current term.

Upton replied that he has made no decisions on retiring.

He has served in the U-S House since 1987.
