Lead In The Water In Highland Park

Water in several homes in Highland Park have high levels of lead, according to the city of Highland Park.
The water department is telling residents to run the water to flush out lead and to get the water tested.
36 homes were tested this summer, as mandated by state policy. Tests are required every 3 years.
Out of 36 homes, 9 tested high for lead. The city says
if you do not have a lead service line, run the water for 30 seconds to two minutes, or until it becomes cold.
If you have a lead service line, run the water for at least five minutes.
