A big part of a Detroit freeway will be closed this coming weekend.
Work to set in new bridge beams will close part of I-94 for the weekend on Detroit’s east side.
Crews will set more than 20 beams on the French Road and Concord Street overpasses. M-DOT says WB I-94 from Conner to John-R, and EB I-94 from I-75 to Conner will be closed starting at 9pm Friday. All ramps will be closed along that stretch. All lanes are expected to reopen by 5am Monday.
Detours will be posted.
The bridge replacement is part of the I-94 re-construction to rebuild 7 miles and replace 67 bridges between Conner and I-96.
