Warren Shootout Case In Court

It started as a robbery attempt, but it ended with lead flying in a Warren neighborhood.

Police say four armed suspects in a car wearing masks approached a man as he was walking down Prospect Avenue just east of Van Dyke at about 5:45pm.

The victim said he heard one of the men say, just go ahead and shoot him.

He ran home and yelled at his stepmother that he was being robbed.

The woman, who has a license to carry a concealed weapon, fired one shot at the suspects.

They returned fire, then fled, but crashed into a fire hydrant.

Police eventually arrested three teenagers and a juvenile.

Due in court today for a preliminary exam are 19 year old Antonio Stitts and Taurice Taylor, both of Detroit, and 18 year old Antoine Jones of Eastpointe.

Police say at least 13 shots were fired during the gun battle and it was lucky that no one was hit.
