Archbishop Launches New Policies Against Abuses

Detroit Catholic archbishop Allen Vigneron says church leaders will start work immediately to follow measures on accountability of bishops in sexual abuse cases.
The U-S Conference of Bishops called for bishops to do more to respond to abuse allegations and warned bishops not to cover up any evidence of abuse. The conference called for a third-party system to allow people to make confidential reports and a new oversight model to give metropolitan bishops more responsibility.
Vigneron has said the Detroit archdiocese was fully cooperating with criminal investigations.
