The search effort has failed to find a former Birmingham man who went missing last weekend.
23-year-old Jacob Sandy went kayaking in Lake Michigan as a storm was coming in Porter, Indiana.
Friends and family gathered at a church in Birmingham to pray last night.
Divers are searching Lake Michigan in Indiana for any signs of the missing Birmingham native.
Police said a storm came up just as Sandy got in water with his kayak. Witnesses said they saw him go under at a spot that’s up to 30 feet deep and no one saw him surface.
