New Anti-Abortion Drive Launched

A new petition drive is being launched to stop abortions in Michigan.
The Michigan Heartbeat Coalition has filed petition language with the Secretary of State to ban abortion as soon a heartbeat is detected.
Under the ballot proposal, doctors would be subject to a felony if they perform an abortion after the heartbeat is detected.
Another anti-abortion group, Right To Life Michigan, has a petition drive to ban abortions in the second tri-mester of pregnancy, the dilation and evacuation procedure.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has promised to veto anti-abortion bills.
A fetal heartbeat can be detected at roughly six weeks of pregnancy.
