Kelly Stafford Back Home

Kelly Stafford has returned home after undergoing brain surgery for a tumor. Kelly, the wife of Detroit Lions Quarterback Matthew Stafford, posted on Instagram Sunday: “This Easter is the beginning of a new life for me.”
She had a 12-hour surgery.

She underwent surgery Wednesday, and wrote that her surgery took twice as long as expected because of “an abnormal vein” but that she had a doctor who was experienced on it, and the surgery went well.

“This Easter is the beginning of a new life for me,” Stafford wrote in a post that included a picture of her leaving the hospital with her husband, mother and brother, and video of her walking with assistance. “I wanna take a second to thank all of you for all the prayers. They have worked. I know they have. When they opened me up, I had an abnormal vein.. maybe abnormal for other neurosurgeons, but not the one We chose. He had seen it before and written a paper on it. That’s truly God’s work.”
