State Official Astounded After Tour

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson says she inherited a broken system at the secretary of state’s offices, resulting in broken equipment, lines that are too long, and other deep-seated problems, that are so bad that it may take 2 years or more for Benson to reach the 30-minute promise that she made during her campaign. Benson says she plans to bring more services online and to develop multi-year license tabs. Benson tells WJR that  employees she talked to in a visit to all of Michigan’s branches told her they feel they are not given the tools and support they need to do a better job.
