School Stabbing Death In Court

A preliminary exam is scheduled for today for a 17 year old girl who stabbed  a classmate to death at Warren Fitzgerald High School.

Tanaya Lewis is facing murder charges in the stabbing of 16 year old Danyna Gibson in a classroom at the school in September.

Prosecutors say the victim was attacked in a dispute over a boy.

Lewis underwent a psychiatric exam following the stabbing and was found competent to stand trial.

The exam will determine if she will be bound over for trial. Some testimony was heard. The proceeding will resume at a later date.
